Analyst - Mergers & Acquisitions - New York, Seoul, and Shanghai

Morgen Evan is a global advisory-focused investment bank. Our team of senior professionals delivers a wide array of strategic advisory (M&A) and special situations and private fund advisory and placement services to corporations, financial sponsors, institutional investors and governments around the world. We offer a unique portfolio of advisory services designed to help our clients realize major corporate milestones and solve complex issues. We also provide private fund advisory and placement services for alternative investment managers, including private equity funds, venture capital funds and hedge funds.

Program Description:

The Advisory group is one of the most experienced investment banking teams in the industry, and has been involved in some of the most complex transactions of the past few years. Our New York, Seoul, and Shanghai teams focus on a diverse set of industries, including industrials, technology, and healthcare. Analysts have the opportunity to participate in all aspects of projects and be quickly staffed on a number of assignments. Due to the relatively small size of the professional staff, Analysts will assume integral roles on deal teams and quickly gain a meaningful experience and understanding of the industry.

Analysts will work on a wide range of transactions including acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, private placements and leveraged buyouts. Analysts are expected to be involved with the development, structuring and financing of transactions and regularly attend client and internal meetings, negotiations and due diligence sessions.  Analyst work will include, but is not limited to:

  • In depth financial analysis

  • Extensive computer modelling

  • Development of client presentations

  • Preparation of memoranda for internal and external use

  • Conducting financial and other business related research

  • Coordinating complex and often time-sensitive processes

  • Active involvement in client facing situations

  • Assistance in the execution of transactions

  • Participation in talent development efforts, including recruiting

We seek to hire individuals who are highly motivated, intelligent, and have excellent academic, leadership and extracurricular records.  In addition, qualified candidates will possess the following:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and mastery of the English language is required

  • Aptitude to work collaboratively in a team environment

  • Robust organisational and time management skills

  • Strong work ethic and ability to work well under pressure

  • An in depth knowledge of accounting and corporate finance either through detailed coursework or previous internships is required

To be considered for the 2018 Analyst Program, applicants must meet the following criteria:
